Bruce Lee was a philosopher, innovator and thinker applied to his art; He studied the thought of the Taoists such as Lao-Tsé and Chuang-Tsé, studied philosophy at the University of Washington where he was especially interested in the thought of Hegel, Marx, Krishnamurti and Spinoza among others, which he applied to his way of life.
He began to formally practice Wing Chun Kung Fu in his adolescence and then created his own method of combat, the Jeet Kune Do (JKD) or “the way of the intercepting fist” which he always proclaimed that he should not take it as a simple “style” or method.
His films, interviews and mainly his charisma and influence, gave birth to and spread the rise of the passion for martial arts throughout the West, generating a wave of followers throughout the world. His image endures in time and has remained in history as the great legend of martial arts.
